# Create Launcher

> Create and configure a LauncherForge desktop launcher for your game or studio.

# Create a launcher

A launcher is the desktop application your players use to discover, install, update, and start games.

## Create the launcher

    Sign in to the dashboard and open the **Launchers** section.

  <Step title="Create a new launcher">
    Enter a clear name and a unique slug. The slug is used as a stable identifier and should not be changed casually after release.

    Choose one of the templates available to your workspace and plan.

  <Step title="Save the initial configuration">
    Create the launcher before adding games and detailed content.

## Configure the presentation

Depending on the selected template and plan, you can configure:

* Logo and launcher icon.
* Brand colors and visual assets.
* Navigation items.
* Background image or video.
* News entries.
* Patch notes.
* Maintenance messages.
* Game library presentation.
* Login and registration screens.

  Template capabilities are not always identical. Only configure fields supported by the selected template.

## Add games

A launcher can contain one or more games according to your plan limits. After creating the launcher, continue with [Create a game](/platform/create-game).

## Before publishing

Review:

* Launcher name and slug.
* Logo clarity at small sizes.
* Icon format and transparency.
* Text contrast.
* Navigation labels.
* Default language.
* Empty states when no news or patch notes exist.
* Installation and update behavior with a test account.
